Through all these years living in America, even long after I started to advocate for #HongKong on Capitol Hill, I’ve never imagined the day when my personal safety literally comes up for debate. I’m so blessed to have @SenatorDurbin get emotional and stand up for me like this.

 

Of course, I very much regret that the bipartisan Hong Kong People’s Freedom and Choice Act of 2020 still died in the Senate on Friday, despite having passed the House unanimously, due to unsubstantiated claims of this being some kind of a Democratic plot to invite Chinese spies.
