Senate Republicans bear the responsibility for not removing him when they had the chance, and they are holding their breath and hoping they can get to January 20 without Trump forcing them to vote on removing him again. /1

 

But it shows how badly Trump has corroded the rule of law and our constitutional norms that something that would have gotten any other president removed immediately - actually talking about a military coup in the Oval - is just waved away with embarrassment by the GOP. /2
