I agree that the Kremlin doesn’t necessarily care about Trump. Their goal is and always was to damage the US, stoke chaos and weaken US ties with Europe. They support Trump because he is a mess, weakens the US and is the chaos candidate. It’s not based on a love of Trump per se.
