If @Lawrence really said the Chief Justice couldn’t & wouldn’t break a 50-50 Senate tie as presiding officer in the upcoming trial, I respectfully disagree. The Constitution’s text, structure & history all show the contrary. Eg: CJ Chase broke two Senate ties in Johnson’s trial.
