Alabama's total abortion ban will be challenged in court, and it will likely be overturned. That is the point. Alabama plans to appeal this case all the way to SCOTUS. If a similar ban is upheld (most likely in the 5th Circuit), it will force SCOTUS to hear it. Roe is the target.
