Meet the unethical Trump loyalist who’ll oversee the Mueller probe if Rod Rosenstein is ousted

Yale Law School students fill a hallway sitting in silent protest over allegations that Brett Kavanaugh assaulted at least 2 women.

NEW Ford letter to Grassley: "I have one motivation in coming forward – to tell the truth about what Mr. Kavanaugh and his friend Mark Judge did to me . . . my fear will not hold me back from testifying and you will be provided with answers to all of your questions."

From The Post's Editorial Board: Trump should leave Rod Rosenstein alone

Day 70! Rain or/and Shine!

If Rosenstein departs, Noel Francisco should not oversee the Special Counsel investigation. His previous firm Jones Day represents the @realDonaldTrump campaign in the Special Counsel investigation. This is a huge conflict of interest.

Update: 2 Kavanaugh classmates withdrew from a statement his lawyers issued disputing Ramirez’s claims. It is now signed by the 2 men whom Ramirez alleged had egged on Kavanaugh, the wife of the man she said told her to "kiss it,” and one other classmate:

BREAKING: @SenateMajLdr attacks victims, Senate Democrats and #TheResistance, says @GOP does not #BelieveSurvivors and has no interest in #truth

It’s not even clear yet if Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is actually going anywhere. But Trump’s lawyers still want his exit to block, if temporarily, the Russia investigation

Women wearing black walked out of their offices at 1 pm, put their fists in the air and said “believe survivors.” This is just one random park in NYC

NBC's Pete Williams on @MSNBC: Rod Rosenstein appears to be staying put as Deputy AG, now attending a regularly scheduled meeting of top officials

Looks like the White House is lying to the American people by claiming that Rosenstein verbally resigned to WH Chief of Staff John Kelly. Who ultimately oversees the Russia probe could well hinge on whether he resigned or was fired, so this isn't just any white lie from the WH

#Breaking: Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein expects that he will be fired after Friday’s report in The New York Times, but he has not resigned, NPR's @johnson_carrie reports.

Read the memo from Brett Kavanaugh to Judge Starr

Perspective: Ted Cruz bets on bigotry

Having Kavanaugh withdraw on his own, and doing so as soon as possible, is by far the least-worst scenario for the GOP, politically. Everything else is really, really risky.

Things just keep getting worse for Brett Kavanaugh and his Republican supporters

BREAKING: Trump says allegations against Kavanaugh 'totally political,' says 'I am with him all the way'

80,000 votes in 3 states put Trump in the White House. Now a meticulous analysis of online activity during the campaign makes a powerful case that cyberattacks by Russian hackers and trolls were decisive:

'Roger Stone sought contact with WikiLeaks' Julian Assange, email suggests' The July 31, 2016, email from Roger Stone to Jerome Corsi was an explicit attempt by Stone to connect with Julian Assange using Corsi and Ted Malloch as intermediaries.

Jane Mayer on CBS: "We found classmates had been talking about this for weeks ... There'd been an email chain of Yale classmates of Kavanaugh talking about 'will this thing come out' long before Christine Blasey Ford came forward. We felt the public ought to know about this."

We are calling on the Committee and Senator Grassley to immediately request that Mark Judge testify under oath about the allegations against Brett Kavanaugh. They should not be hiding witnesses. The Committee works for the American people and this is a search for the truth.

Senator Feinstein is right. This is a lifetime appointment - there is zero reason to rush. The committee and the FBI should do a full investigation, giving Republicans time to do some soul searching.

If the name Louisa Garry—one of Brett Kavanaugh’s Yale classmates disputing Deborah Ramirez’s sexual misconduct claim— looks familiar, it might because she was recently featured in a pro-Kavanaugh ad by 501(c)(4) "dark money" group Judicial Crisis Network

The Boys’ Club That Protects Brett Kavanaugh

Quick credibility check! Do we believe @ChuckGrassley that his staff didn't know, or do we believe @RonanFarrow & @JaneMayerNYer that "Senior Republican staffers also learned of the allegation last week... [then] issued renewed calls to accelerate the timing of a committee vote?"

One more flag from the New Yorker piece: Elizabeth Rasor, who dated Mark Judge for about three years, said that she felt morally obligated to challenge his account that "'no horseplay' took place at Georgetown Prep with women."

California bans all restaurants from giving out plastic straws:

This @washingtonpost article yesterday about Brett Kavanaugh refusing to answer questions in prep session (to a friendly audience) about his drinking & sexual proclivities takes on new meaning in light of today's multiple allegations of sexual misconduct against him.

As a former prosecutor, I know that people who engage in deviant sexual behavior don't just do it once. This appears to be the case with Kavanaugh. There are many judges @POTUS can nominate who don't have multiple sexual misconduct claims against them. Kavanaugh must withdraw

I think we can all agree his coaching career is at an end.

That is a HIGHLY irresponsible response to serious allegations of sexual misconduct. We are considering a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court. It's critical that Ms. Ramirez's allegations are investigated by the FBI & I thank her for the courage she has shown by coming fwd.
