Trump's Presidential Honeymoon - Robert Reich

New presidents traditionally enjoy a “honeymoon” when they move into the Oval Office, because the public hopes they’ll succeed. Barack Obama had a 75 percent approval rating in mid-December 2008. Even after the bitterly-contested 2000 election, in which George W. Bush lost the popular vote, Bush went into office with a 65 percent approval rate.
But it looks like Trump’s honeymoon is over even before Trump begins. His approval rating is between 37 percent (Quinnipiac poll) and 44 percent (Gallup). That’s the lowest recorded approval rating of any president in the final days before first entering office. Why? His compulsive need to be at the center of attention and to respond to any perceived slight with a juvenile putdown, his petulance and vindictiveness, his chronic boastfulness, and his non-stop belligerence.
What do you think?

No transition honeymoon for Trump
