Russia sucker punched the King (US) and has continued with a series of right jabs and left hooks. Everybody knows that if you are going to take a shot at the King, you had better kill him. Because there will not be a second chance, and you will not survive the inevitable revenge.

Translation: They are all-in with their chips on this. They have chosen to make this game zero-sum. Russia will either become *the* world power, or they will face the provoked destruction they will have rightly come to deserve.

Don't fool yourself into thinking all the little stuff is just petty squabbles. Look at the big picture and realize this is potential end-game content being played out.
