Good morning. Bijan Kian's trial gets underway in USDC EDVA today. Kian is accused of working as an agent of the Turkish government. Prosecutors say Kian acted on directions from Turkey when he convinced Michael Flynn to write an op-ed slamming Turkish cleric Fethullah Gulen.

Recall, Gulen has lived in the US for years in political exile. Turkish President Recep Erdogan blames Gulen for a failed coup against him in 2016.
